CAT (Common Entance Test)
Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are the conducting body.The most prestigious and tough MBA entrance exam for admission to the IIMs and other prestigious business institutions in India is the CAT.
Sections:
Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability (VARC)
Logical reasoning and data interpretation (DILR)
Ability to Quantify (QA)
Exam Format:
Multiple-choice (MCQ) and non-MCQ computer-based questions
Eligibility:
A minimum percentage of graduation in any stream (varies by category)

MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
For admission to postgraduate management programs such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national entrance exam administered in India. It is one of the most well-liked management entrance exams, and more than 600 Indian business schools accept it.
Conducting Organization:
The All India Management Association (AIMA) oversees the MAT.
MAT Exam Sections:
A candidate's aptitude is assessed in five main categories by the MAT exam: Language Comprehension (LC): Emphasizes verbal proficiency, grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.Arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data sufficiency issues are all covered in Mathematical Skills (MS).Data Analysis and Sufficiency (DAS): Assesses knowledge of table analysis, graph interpretation, and logical reasoning.
Questions involving analytical reasoning, decision-making, and riddles are all part of Intelligence and Critical Reasoning (ICR).
Indian and Global Environment (GE): Evaluates general knowledge of current events, business news, and current affairs.

Eligibility:
Qualifications: a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in any field.Undergraduate students in their last year may also apply. Although many institutes may have their own requirements, there is no minimum percentage requirement.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)
The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) administers the internationally known Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). It is intended for enrollment in MBA programs and other business courses at prestigious management schools across the globe. The analytical, mathematical, verbal, and integrated reasoning abilities required for success in graduate management studies are assessed by the GMAT.
Sections:
Each of the four components that make up the GMAT exam is intended to assess a certain set of skills.
Assessment of Analytical Writing (AWA): evaluates the capacity for critical thought and good concept communication.demands that applicants submit an essay with a clear format and evaluate an argument.IR, or integrated reasoning:assesses the capacity to analyze data from many sources.comprises two-part analysis, multi-source reasoning, table analysis, and graphic interpretation.
Reasoning quantitatively (QR): evaluates a person's capacity for data analysis and quantitative problem-solving.includes geometry, algebra, and arithmetic
Types of questions:
Data sufficiency and problem-solving.
Reasoning Verbally (VR):
Assesses critical thinking, sentence correction, and reading comprehension abilities.
Exam Format:
The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test, meaning the difficulty level adjusts based on the candidate's performance.
Eligibility:
Usually, a bachelor's degree in any field is necessary.Although standards differ by institution, there are no minimum percentage or age limits.English proficiency is advised.
Type of Question:
There were about 80 questions

Labeling System:
The overall score ranges from 200 to 800.

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur, for admission into its management programs and over 160 other B-schools across India. XAT is one of the most prestigious MBA entrance exams and is known for its moderate to high difficulty level.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years) from a recognized university.
- Final-year students can also apply.
- No age limit for appearing in the exam.

- Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation
- General Knowledge (not considered for percentile calculation)
- Essay Writing (only for XLRI programs)
- Duration: 3 hours 10 minutes

NMAT (Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test)
The NMAT (Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by GMAC (Graduate Management Admission Council) for admission into MBA and other management programs in top B-schools, including NMIMS and several other institutes in India and abroad.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Final-year students can also apply.
- No age limit for appearing in the exam.
NMAT Exam Pattern 2025
The NMAT exam consists of three sections:
- Language Skills
- Quantitative Skills
- Logical Reasoning
- Total Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours)
- Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)
- Question Type: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Scoring Range: 36-360
- No Negative Marking
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)
The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is a national-level management entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for admission into its 15 Symbiosis institutes offering MBA and other management programs.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
- Final-year students can also apply.
- No age limit for appearing in the exam.
SNAP Exam Pattern 2025
The SNAP exam consists of three sections:
- General English (Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability)
- Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency
- Analytical & Logical Reasoning
- Total Duration: 60 minutes
- Mode of Exam: Online (Computer-Based Test)
- Question Type: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)
- Marking Scheme: +1 for each correct answer, -0.25 for each incorrect answer
