KCET 2024 Update: KEA Announces Hall Ticket Policy for UGNEET Candidates

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued an important update this Monday regarding the issuance of hall tickets for the upcoming KCET examinations. According to the notification, candidates who have solely opted for UGNEET will not receive KCET hall tickets, as their admissions will be processed based on their performance in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET UG).

The notification clarified, “For UGCET 2024, candidates who have selected only UGNEET as their option will not be able to download CET Admit Cards. These candidates should participate directly in the NEET Seat Allotment process for Medical/Dental/AYUSH courses.”

KCET is primarily conducted for admissions to Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy courses. Besides managing this entrance exam, KEA also coordinates the common counselling sessions for these courses, as well as oversees the admission procedures for undergraduate medical seats under Karnataka's state quota via NEET UG scores.

Thus, individuals targeting only medical courses have no requirement to take the KCET exams and should prepare for the NEET-based counselling instead.

For candidates applying to Engineering, Agriculture, and Pharmacy courses, the KCET exams are scheduled for April 18 and 19, with a Kannada Language Test following on April 20. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official websites kea.kar.nic.in and cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.
