Highlights of the NEET-UG case | SC requests complete disclosure from NTA and a status report from CBI; hearing scheduled for July 11.

A number of petitions regarding the contentious NEET-UG 2024 medical admission exam were heard by the Supreme Court on Monday. These petitions included claims of paper leaks and other irregularities in the examination administered on May 5 and requested an order to retake it. The Court deliberated about the scope of the disclosure and the current state of the CBI's probe. The SC requested reports from the NTA and the Centre regarding the actions done as well as the potential use of data analytics in the cyber forensics unit or any other government employee in order to detect suspicious cases. During the case hearing, the Supreme Court instructed the formation of a multidisciplinary team to investigate the matter. The Supreme Court stated at the petition hearing that the exam's integrity has been violated and that there has been a confirmed paper leak. The matter is scheduled for hearing by the supreme court on Thursday, July 11.
