JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research was set up in 2008 in Mysore, Karnataka. It was formerly and popularly known as Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University or JSS University. JSS University is a private deemed to be university. It mainly focuses on medical, life science and health related studies. JSS University has 5 Constituent Colleges in Mysore and one Pharmacy College in Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu. It has more than 600 faculty members and around 2000 undergraduate and graduate students and around 300 research scholars. JSS University has been recognized by MHRD and accredited A+ grade by NAAC.
